Hello from Japan!

Interactive Exhibit Development

I worked with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan to build these interactive apps for their Hello from Japan exhibit.

I developed these apps based on specs provided by the museum’s in-house designers.

Learn Japanese

In this iPad app, children learn the Japanese words for fruits and vegetables. They can hear the Japanese and English pronunciations, and then practice tracing the katakana characters with their finger. The app awards a star rating based on how accurately each character is drawn.

This app was developed in Xcode using Swift.

Purikura Photo Booth

This custom photo booth software runs on a large touch screen. Visitors pose for a photo and then decorate it with colorful frames and stickers. At the end of the activity the photos are sent to the visitor’s email address.

I built this app using ActionScript and published it with Adobe AIR.
